Community Garden, connection to nature, our sustainability journey
Explore outside with us.....
Discover new places with us
We believe children can, and should, learn outside.
We love an old fashioned shared picnic lunch.
We cherish children's findings on rambling nature walks, and embrace shells, pine cones, and leaves in story telling, art, and everywhere else they land.
Let's learn Geometry in Early Childhood by describing the shapes of the clouds we see.
Let's incorporate Numeracy by counting our steps on our walk.
Let's sit in the garden and have our Art inspired by the greenery around us.
Sustainability
We are on a long term Sustainability journey that is very important to us.
We aim for wooden furniture and resources, and avoid plastic where possible.
We are part of local recycling projects.
We are true Op Shoppers.
We have Worm Farms in both our yards that the children access daily.
We walk everywhere!
Our spaces
Whilst we love that we are a small Early Learning Centre, we adore that our outdoor spaces are huge!
Our youngest Nursery children have a delightful yard, that is a safe haven for them to explore. It is connected to our big backyard; rustic and wild and full of tall grasses to play amongst.
Children can choose, all day, in all kinds of weather; where they learn, eat, and play.
Community Garden
We have a Plot that we lease at our local Community Garden.
It is a beautiful place; full of heart, dedicated gardeners, bees, chickens, fruit, vegetables, and beautiful flowers.
We tend to our Plot, whilst we learn about growth and nature and the world around us.
We eat rest, and play on the soft green grass.
We are so fortunate to have access to such a wonderful part of our community, right on our doorstep.
