Service and gratitude

They provide material aid and support services to people experiencing personal and financial difficulties in Mornington, Mt Martha, Mt Eliza and Moorooduc. They are powered by over 250 dedicated volunteers and a small team of staff. Here is their website, should you be able to help or want to learn more: https://www.mcsc.au/
Creative Kids Early Learning Centre aims to teach children about the world around us, but importantly about our local community and it's needs. We collect long life and tinned goods for the Mornington Community Centre, and we run Toy Drives at Christmas time. The children walk these items to the Mornington Community Centre to donate directly where they are warmly welcomed and the learning is beautiful to behold.
When we learn about the needs of others, we can also learn to be grateful for what we have. Gratitude is a positive way of thinking and viewing the world. Raising a grateful child is a hard thing to accomplish in a culture that wants everything now, and is quick to move onto the next best thing, but gratitude is an important life skill. By learning gratitude, children learn to become sensitive to the feelings of others, develop empathy and other life skills; such as the ability to view situations positively. Grateful children begin to learn to look outside their one-person world.
